The Ultimate Guide to McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale

MCCORMICK RANCH LIVING
Discover everything you need to know about McCormick Ranch, one of Scottsdale’s most sought-after communities, in this guide to luxury living, outdoor recreation, and neighborhood amenities.
What Makes McCormick Ranch Unique
McCormick Ranch is a 3,100-acre master-planned community in Central Scottsdale. Unlike most desert neighborhoods, it’s filled with tree-lined streets, lakes, and mature landscaping.
I live in McCormick Ranch, so this isn’t just a guide I pulled together from Google. It’s my neighborhood. I know the walking paths, the quiet streets, the good coffee spots, and which shopping centers you’ll actually use every week.
McCormick Ranch is one of the most established and livable communities in Scottsdale. It’s central, it’s green, and it feels different from the newer master-planned neighborhoods further north. You get mature landscaping, lakes, biking paths, and homes that sit on real lots instead of being stacked on top of each other.
If you want convenience without the chaos of Old Town, and access to everything without feeling like you live in a tourist zone, McCormick Ranch hits that balance.
McCormick Ranch Real Estate
McCormick Ranch is a very popular and highly sought-after community located in Central Scottsdale. The prices reflect the popularity, but when I say you will love it here, I can say that is not an understatement.

Who Lives in McCormick Ranch?
Over 27,000 residents call McCormick Ranch home, including families, snowbirds, and retirees. It’s one of Scottsdale’s most desired communities, and you see that reflected in the mix of people who choose to live here. You’ll find long-time homeowners who have been here for decades, young families drawn to the greenbelts and schools, and seasonal residents who come back every winter.
I started with my first investment property here and I can say I will most likely never live anywhere else.

Everyday Shopping in McCormick Ranch
One of the biggest reasons people love living in McCormick Ranch is convenience. You don’t have to get on the 101 every time you need something. Groceries, restaurants, coffee, amazing restaurants, and everyday services are all within a few minutes.
Here are the main shopping areas locals use regularly:
The Village at Hayden (the Mercado del Lago)
The Village at Hayden provides a mix of services and dining options that residents rely on regularly. It’s centrally located and easy to access from most parts of McCormick Ranch.
When I say I go here once or twice a week, I am not exaggerating.
The restaurant choices are fantastic. At Grassroots, I always get the brisket (yum) and the jalapeño grits. They do sound strange, and they had to convince me to try them. They are soooo good.
Collins Chop House – you have to get the Brussels sprouts (and a dirty martini, if you drink). Campo… the marinated olives. OMG. And don’t even get me started about Crust. BONUS… they love and allow dogs on their patio.
Seville Shopping Center
Seville is another convenient center that supports everyday living with practical retail and service options close to home. I frequent this complex often because I can literally walk there within minutes.
I get my nails done, grab coffee and lunch at Wildflower, and pick up birdseed at Wild Birds Unlimited (and they know their birds).
Did you know we have birds here that look like mini parrots? I didn’t either until the bird guy told me what seed to get to attract them. It worked… but those darn morning doves loved it too.
Cupcakes? SweetScape Bakery. Yep… you will blow your diet for sure.
Mountain View Plaza
Mountain View Plaza is a very convenient center in McCormick Ranch. It’s where many residents run to grab coffee at Starbucks or a quick bite to eat.
But the one place I need to mention is The Mick Brasserie. This place is fantastic, and I’m not sure a lot of people know about it, which is crazy in my opinion.
Live music, crazy amazing food, and a really cute patio.
The Grove
The Grove is one of our newer additions and quickly became one of my weekly routines. It’s incredibly convenient if you live in McCormick Ranch.
Lucie’s is a regular stop for me. It’s easy for a quick breakfast, coffee, or grab-and-go lunch when I don’t feel like cooking. It has that local, neighborhood feel.
And yes, Crumbl Cookies is there. If you live nearby, you already know that’s both a blessing and a problem. The rotating flavors make it dangerously easy to “just stop in.”
There’s also solid sushi if you have that craving at OBON. I personally have not been there. Let’s just say I had a bad sushi experience once upon a time. But I know it is probably amazing. LOL.
The Grove is a “go-to” when you live in McCormick Ranch.
Paseo Village Shopping Center
Paseo Village rounds out the neighborhood centers, offering additional dining and service options that make staying within McCormick Ranch simple and efficient.
The Vig… yes, I have complained about their dog policy in the past. One day it was “We allow dogs,” and the next it was “Your dog needs to be a service animal.” Really? They do know people get the fake vests, don’t they?
But in all honesty, their food is good, and this is a super convenient location for me.
The Bagel Store… NYC bagels. You will most likely have a line of people in front of you, but hang in there. It is worth it.
Chinese food craving? Uncle Qwik Chinese is actually really good. We personally love Jade Garden as our “go-to,” but I am serious when I say this place gives them a run for their money.
